Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 27 May 2026

These Terms & Conditions explain how PrintingCAD works, how quotes are handled, what customers are responsible for, and how custom CAD design, 3D printing, manufacturing support, revisions, delivery, refunds, confidentiality and intellectual property are managed.

Important: PrintingCAD operates on a quote-first basis. No paid work begins until your request has been reviewed, a quote has been provided, you have accepted the quote, and any required payment has been received.

1. About PrintingCAD

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the PrintingCAD website and to enquiries, quotes, CAD design, 3D printing, file review, manufacturing support, project support and related services provided by PrintingCAD Ltd.

PrintingCAD Ltd is registered in England and Wales. Company number: 17222338. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.

You can contact us at contact@printingcad.com.

2. Quote-First Service

PrintingCAD operates on a quote-first basis. This means that we review your enquiry, file, sketch, photo, dimensions, design requirements or project brief before confirming whether the work is suitable and before providing a final quote.

A quote may include the expected price, estimated turnaround, delivery method, file requirements, revision terms, assumptions, limitations and any information we need before work can begin.

No paid work begins until a quote has been provided and accepted, and any required payment has been received.

An enquiry, form submission, email, WhatsApp message or file upload does not automatically mean that we have accepted the project. We may ask for further information before deciding whether the work is suitable.

3. Customer Information and File Accuracy

You are responsible for providing accurate, complete and clear information about your project. This may include dimensions, intended use, material preferences, colour, finish, quantity, deadline, tolerances, file format, photos, sketches, drawings or any relevant constraints.

We rely on the information you provide when reviewing, quoting, designing or arranging production. If the information is incomplete, unclear or incorrect, this may affect the quote, lead time, design outcome, print quality, fit, function or suitability of the final item.

If we need more information before quoting or starting work, we may contact you using the details provided.

4. CAD Design, 3D Printing and Manufacturing Services

Depending on the project, PrintingCAD may support CAD design, file preparation, 3D printing, additive manufacturing, reverse engineering support, 3D scanning support, CNC machining support, laser cutting support, architectural models, planning models or related design-to-manufacture services.

The availability and suitability of any process depends on the project requirements, file quality, dimensions, material, finish, tolerance, quantity, intended use and supplier or production availability.

We do not guarantee that every enquiry can be accepted. We may refuse or decline a project if it is unclear, unsuitable, unsafe, unlawful, outside our capability, outside available supplier capability, or not appropriate for our service.

5. Files, Formats and Conversion

Where possible, please provide suitable files for review. This may include STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF, CAD files, drawings, sketches, photos or other relevant project information.

If a file is not in the required format, we may be able to advise on suitable formats or possible conversion options. Customers may also use third-party file conversion tools at their own discretion. File conversion can sometimes affect scale, detail, geometry, compatibility or quality, so you should keep a copy of your original file.

We are not responsible for issues caused by inaccurate, corrupted, incomplete, wrongly scaled or unsuitable files provided by the customer.

6. Quotes, Pricing and Payment

Prices are confirmed by quote and may vary depending on the design complexity, project scope, material, process, size, quantity, finish, revisions, delivery requirements and any third-party production or supplier costs.

Payment is only requested once your request has been reviewed and you are ready to proceed. Payments may be handled through Stripe, invoice, checkout or another agreed payment method.

We accept the payment methods available through Stripe or the payment route provided at the time of payment. Availability may depend on your location, device, bank or payment provider.

7. Order Acceptance

An order is only accepted when we have reviewed the request, provided a quote, you have accepted the quote, and any required payment has been received.

If a quote is accepted, you are responsible for checking that the quoted scope, information, files, assumptions, delivery route and expected outcome are correct before payment is made.

8. Cancellations, Refunds and Custom Work

Many PrintingCAD orders involve custom CAD design, bespoke manufacturing, personalised files, made-to-order 3D printed parts, third-party supplier work or project-specific preparation. Because of this, cancellations and refunds may be handled differently from standard off-the-shelf products.

If we review your project and cannot complete the accepted order after payment has been made, we will provide a full refund for the work we are unable to complete.

If work has already started, cancellation or refund options may be limited. This is because time, labour, design work, supplier costs, material costs or production preparation may already have been committed to the project.

If only part of the work has been completed, delivered or committed, any refund will be reviewed based on the completed work, project stage, supplier costs, material costs and what was agreed in the quote.

This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

9. Revisions and Changes

Where revisions are included, this will be stated in your quote or project communication. Revisions may apply to CAD design work, file corrections, design adjustments or agreed project changes before final approval.

Revisions usually cover reasonable changes within the original project scope. Major changes, new requirements, different dimensions, new design directions, additional parts, new files or different manufacturing requirements may require a revised quote.

Once a design, file or production instruction has been approved, changes may not be possible without additional cost or delay.

10. Delivery and Lead Times

Delivery times and project lead times are estimates unless specifically confirmed otherwise in writing. Lead times may vary depending on project complexity, file quality, customer response time, design work, production method, supplier availability, material availability, courier availability and destination.

For physical 3D printed or manufactured items, delivery costs and delivery methods will be confirmed as part of the quote where applicable. UK delivery may be included where stated in the quote. CAD-only work is usually delivered digitally and may not require physical delivery.

For international customers, digital delivery and revision support may be available where suitable. Physical shipping costs, taxes, import charges, duties, customs fees or delays may vary depending on the destination and are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Before shipping a physical item, we may send photos of the completed part where suitable so you can review the result before dispatch.

11. Suitability, Tolerances and Intended Use

Custom CAD design and 3D printing depend on the quality of the information provided, the selected process, the material, geometry, tolerances and intended use. 3D printed parts may show layer lines, support marks, minor surface variation, colour variation or other process-related differences.

Unless specifically agreed in writing, parts supplied through PrintingCAD are not certified for safety-critical, medical, electrical, automotive, aerospace, load-bearing, regulated or life-critical use.

You are responsible for checking whether any part, design, material or process is suitable, safe and compliant for your intended use. Where required, you should obtain professional engineering, safety, regulatory or compliance advice before using the part.

12. Intellectual Property and Customer Files

You must only send files, drawings, photos, sketches, designs, logos, models or information that you own or have permission to use.

You remain responsible for ensuring that your project does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright, design rights, patents, trademarks or confidential information.

By sending us files or project information, you confirm that you have the right to share them with us for the purpose of reviewing, quoting, designing, manufacturing or arranging production for your project.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you retain ownership of the original files and information you provide. Any CAD files, design outputs, drawings, models, renders or production files created by us may be subject to the specific terms agreed in your quote.

13. Confidentiality, NDA and Sensitive Projects

We understand that some projects may involve confidential ideas, product concepts, prototypes, business information or intellectual property.

If your project is confidential or commercially sensitive, please tell us before sending detailed files or specifications. Where required, we can discuss confidentiality requirements, non-disclosure arrangements or project handling requirements before work begins.

We will take reasonable steps to handle customer files and project information responsibly. However, unless a separate written NDA or confidentiality agreement has been agreed, project information will be handled under these general Terms & Conditions.

14. Third-Party Suppliers and Production Partners

Depending on the project, PrintingCAD may use third-party suppliers, freelancers, manufacturers, designers, printing providers, machining providers, scanning providers, courier services or software tools to help review, design, produce or deliver the project.

Where this is required, only relevant project information will be shared as needed to quote, produce or deliver the work. If your project is confidential or requires special handling, you must tell us before sharing detailed information.

15. Website Use

You agree not to misuse the PrintingCAD website, forms, upload features, email addresses or communication channels. You must not submit unlawful, harmful, offensive, misleading, malicious, unsafe or infringing content.

We may restrict, reject or remove enquiries that appear to be spam, fraudulent, unlawful, unsafe, abusive or outside the purpose of our services.

16. Limitation of Liability

We aim to provide clear, practical and reliable service, but we do not guarantee that every design, file, print, prototype or manufactured part will be suitable for every possible use or environment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PrintingCAD will not be liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of data, production downtime, third-party claims or losses caused by inaccurate information, unsuitable files, incorrect assumptions, misuse of parts or use outside the agreed project scope.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be available on this page. Continued use of our website or services after an update means that you accept the updated terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
